Activated Carbon Filter Sheets 40 x 40 cm

These activated carbon filter sheets utilize ErtelAlsop’s Micro-Clear depth filter media. Each sheet is made of cellulose depth media and is impregnated with Activated Carbon as a filter aid. The activated carbon used in these depth filter sheets is Cabot’s DARCO S-51 powdered activated carbon, which is produced by steam activation of lignite coal.

Activated carbon is used to decolorize and deodorize liquids and is highly popular in the botanical extraction, brewing and distilled spirits industries. Activated carbon filters can be used to create a flavorless base upon which new flavors and fragrances can be added.

Since the activated carbon is impregnated directly into the depth filter media, there is no need to deal with the hassle of loose powdered carbon in your process. Additionally, the cellulose depth media acts as a particulate filter and is nominally rated at 1 micron. This gives the user particulate removal, decolorization and deodorization all in one filter.

These 40 cm x 40 cm sheets come 100 to a case and fit perfectly into ErtelAlsop’s Bev Express filter press.

The DARCO S-51 activated carbon is Kosher certified and meets NSF/ANSI Standard 61 and the requirements of the latest version of the United States Food Chemicals Codex.
