PROPOR BR bioburden reduction filters provide fast, reliable control of microbial load in pharmaceutical liquids. These pleated 0.2 micron bioburden reduction filters combine a high-performance polyethersulfone (PES) membrane with an integral meltblown prefilter layer to deliver consistent log reduction and long on-stream life in demanding process environments.

Designed specifically for bioburden reduction of pharmaceutical solutions, PROPOR BR filters are ideal for conditioning large volume parenterals (LVPs), buffers and process intermediates prior to terminal sterilization, or as prefilters upstream of sterilizing grade membrane filters. The additional prefilter layer maximizes dirt-holding capacity and throughput, reducing filter changeout frequency and helping optimize total cost of ownership.

The low protein-binding PES membrane and carefully selected construction materials minimize product loss and extractables, while maintaining broad chemical compatibility for typical pharmaceutical and bioprocess fluids. Multiple formats are available, including full-size cartridges, demi cartridges, MURUS and DEMICAP single-use capsules, and syringe filters, allowing easy integration from lab scale through full production.

PROPOR BR filters are manufactured to pharmaceutical grade standards, integrity testable, and compatible with hot water sanitization, steam-in-place and gamma irradiation (capsules), supporting robust, validated bioburden reduction across a wide range of life science applications.
