Product Description
HIGH FLOW TETPOR XT high temperature sterilizing grade air and gas filters provide reliable 0.2 micron sterile filtration of compressed air and process gases in demanding pharmaceutical and biopharmaceutical applications. These pleated cartridge filters combine an inherently hydrophobic expanded PTFE membrane with a robust high-temperature construction to maintain sterility even during extended high temperature operation.
Engineered specifically for gas sterilization, HIGH FLOW TETPOR XT cartridges are validated as sterilizing grade in liquid in accordance with ASTM F838 bacterial challenge testing, and have been shown effective for viral and bacteriophage retention. The large-bore stainless steel core and optimized pleat geometry deliver high flow rates at low pressure drop, supporting efficient sterile gas distribution and venting while minimizing energy consumption and filter change-out frequency.
To support continuous operation at elevated temperatures, the PTFE membrane is supported by polyphenylene sulfide (PPS) layers, with heat stabilized polypropylene hardware rated for continuous service up to 100 °C. The cartridges can be in situ steam sterilized for up to 120 cycles at 135 °C, making them ideal for systems that rely on frequent SIP regimes. Biocompatibility testing to USP <87> and USP <88> Plastics Class VI – 121 °C helps support their use in critical life science processes.
HIGH FLOW TETPOR XT sterilizing grade air and gas filters are available in 10 in, 20 in, and 30 in lengths with a 226 bayonet/fin end configuration and a range of O-ring materials, allowing easy integration into standard sanitary and industrial housings. Typical uses include high inlet air temperature lines and heated vent filters on storage tanks containing water for injection (WFI) or other elevated-temperature process fluids, as well as other critical sterile gas and vent applications in pharmaceutical and bioprocessing facilities.
