VitaPump™ Automated Vitamin Fortification System

The SciLog^® VitaPump™ automated vitamin fortification system provides high‑precision metering and documentation of vitamin addition for dairy and food processors. Designed specifically for automated vitamin fortification of milk and other dairy products, the VitaPump system helps plants meet stringent PMO Appendix O requirements while improving process control, product consistency, and traceability.

Each VitaPump system integrates a SciLog Smart VitaPump™, electronic scale, and printer into a compact, mobile package with a small footprint. The controller/scale combination continuously self‑calibrates and delivers typical long‑term accuracy better than 0.5% by volume, allowing operators to avoid both over‑fortification and under‑fortification of vitamins. All metering data can be documented and archived via the onboard printer or a connected PC, supporting quality control, compliance reporting, and inventory management.

The system is capable of metering liquids up to 2000 cP and can be remotely controlled using an external relay for easy integration into existing dairy processing lines. User‑definable alarms and safe “walk‑away” operation help operators focus on other tasks while the VitaPump ensures accurate dosage and automatic run documentation. The continuously self‑calibrating design has been successfully applied for metering vitamins D, A&D, and A&E in both batch and continuous milk processing applications.

For higher‑pressure in‑line injection points, the rotary piston model can pump against back pressures up to 100 psi and features stainless steel and ceramic wetted parts that meet FDA 3‑A standards. For lower‑pressure applications, a peristaltic (tandem) pump head option provides a broad flow range while maintaining accurate, gentle vitamin delivery. With 120 VAC and 220/240 VAC configurations, included Mettler Toledo balance, fittings and food‑grade tubing kit, and printer, the VitaPump arrives pre‑tested and ready for out‑of‑the‑box use in demanding dairy fortification environments.
